Knife-wielding man robs Valley Stream 7-Eleven, cops say
Nassau County police are searching for a man who they said held up a Valley Stream 7-Eleven in an early morning robbery.
The man entered the store at 190 N. Central Ave. at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday and displayed a large knife to the man, 60, behind the counter. Police said the suspect then demanded money from the cash drawer.
The clerk complied and the man ran off on foot on Central Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and scratch-off lottery tickets, police said.
The employee was not injured and no customers were in the store at the time.
The man is described as 5-foot-8 with a thin build. Police said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with “Victory” written on the back, black gloves and a dark scarf around his face.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477 to report information anonymously.
