Cops: Suspect sought in Roosevelt Field mall theft

Police are looking for a man who they said stole more than $3,000 worth of merchandise from Roosevelt Field mall two weeks ago.
The man entered the mall on Old Country Road in Garden City at about 3 p.m. on Feb. 24 “and without authority to do so, concealed merchandise inside his leather jacket and exited the mall without paying for the items,” Nassau County police said Saturday in a news release.
Police valued the merchandise at more than $3,000 but did not specify what was taken or from where.
Police described the suspect as having “average build, short dark hair, glasses,” and “wearing a blue shirt, dark colored pants, gray sneakers and a black leather jacket.”
Detectives urge anyone with information about the theft to anonymously call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
