NEW CASSEL/Woman attacked, robbed
Nassau County police said they are looking for seven people who they say attacked and robbed a 28-year-old woman this week in New Cassel.
The woman was walking across the playground of Park Avenue Elementary School at about 9:15 p.m. when four women and three men attacked her, police said yesterday.
A female attacker, described as tall and thin and dressed in red pants, a blue sweater, and a black baseball cap, hit the woman repeatedly over the head with a bottle and demanded her handbag, police said. The victim, who had fallen, was punched and kicked by the males, officials said. One man, described as heavyset and in a gray sweater, blue jeans, with a face covering, took the victim's handbag, police said.
The suspects, who took about $400 in cash and the victim's cellphone, fled in the direction of Maple Drive and Elderberry Lane, police said. The victim sustained a head laceration and was treated at an area hospital.
