LI doctor arrested after alleged cocaine deal
An ear, nose and throat doctor from Brookville is accused of buying cocaine from a nurse in a North Massapequa parking lot, Nassau police said.
Eliot Danziger, 53, of 10 Quaker Ridge Drive, is accused of buying cocaine from Kelly Coleman, of 25 Zack St., N. Babylon.
Danziger is charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Coleman is charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Both are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
Danziger has practices in Flushing, Levittown and Massapequa. Coleman, 45, is a nursing assistant at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, according to police.
Police said the deal took place in the parking lot of a Getty gas station on North Broadway in North Massapequa at about 3:15 p.m. - and said it was observed by Bureau of Special Operations officers on patrol in an unmarked car.
Those officers said they observed a 2010 BMW in the parking lot and saw a 2003 Hyundai driven by Coleman pull up alongside.
Police said they saw Coleman hand Danziger "a small object," which they said he placed in his pocket, and saw him hand her cash. Then they moved in.
Police said they found one clear plastic bag containing cocaine in Danziger's pants pocket and said they recovered the cash from Coleman. Both were arrested, police said.
