An East Islip man remains in jail Saturday after Suffolk County police said they arrested him for having 68 license suspensions.
Louis Carr Jr., 63, was arrested Friday night in North Amityville.
Police said Carr was stopped after he failed to signal while driving a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser south on Albany Avenue near Bayview Avenue. First Precinct officers pulled Carr over and learned that his license had been suspended 68 times, including at the time of his arrest, police said in a news release.
Carr has been charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony. He was arraigned Saturday morning in First District Court in Central Islip. His bond was set at $50,000 or $25,000 cash, which he had not posted, according to online court records.
Carr's next scheduled court appearance is Tuesday.
