Ever Misael Merino Hernandez, of Brentwood, charged with driving under the influence after multiple LIE crashes

A Brentwood man was charged with driving while impaired after his vehicle struck four others on the Long Island Expressway early Friday, injuring one person, Suffolk County police said.
Ever Misael Merino Hernandez, 21, was driving a 2002 Honda in the eastbound lanes around 12 a.m. near Exit 50 in Melville, when his vehicle struck another and then he fled.
He then struck at least three other vehicles and was arrested, police said.
One person suffered a minor injury.
Merino Hernandez was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol. He is scheduled for arraignment on Friday.
