Person hit by LIRR train leads to partial suspension of service Tuesday evening on Montauk branch
Long Island Rail Road service was partially suspended Tuesday evening on the Montauk branch after a person was struck by a train in Bay Shore, MTA officials said.
The LIRR reported the partial suspension of service between Babylon and Patchogue in both directions shortly before 5:30 p.m.
The 4:10 p.m. westbound train from Speonk to Jamaica was delayed at Bay Shore. The 4:27 p.m. eastbound train from Long Island City to Patchogue was operating 10 to 15 minutes late.
Meanwhile, the 5:31 p.m. train from Patchogue to Babylon was canceled, the MTA said. The 5:15 p.m. eastbound train from Babylon to Speonk and the 5:13 p.m. train from Penn Station to Speonk were also canceled.
