A Long Island City man was charged Wednesday in the February robbery of a New Hyde Park bank, Nassau police said.

Christopher Pabon, 34, of 30th Street, was charged with third-degree robbery and will be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Major Case detectives said in a news release that on Feb. 1 Pabon entered Valley National Bank at 699 Hillside Ave. and gave the teller a note demanding money. The female teller, 41, complied and Pabon fled eastbound on Hillside Avenue with an undetermined amount of money, police said.

Five employees were inside the bank at the time, police said.

A “subsequent investigation” led detectives to Pabon, police said, and he was arrested at Rikers Island, where he was being held on an unrelated charge.
