A Lynbrook man was arrested on charges of driving drunken with his daughter in the vehicle early Saturday in Valley Stream, police said.

Officers were on Shine Place for a disturbance call when Jose A. Forero, 62, arrived in a Jeep Wrangler with one headlight out and his daughter, 6, in the rear seat, Nassau County police said in a new release.

Officers determined Forero was intoxicated and asked him to exit the vehicle, police said.

He became agitated and approached the officers in an aggressive manner, yelling and flailing his arms, police said. He didn’t comply with police commands and was placed under arrest at 12:30 a.m.

In the back of the squad car, Forero began banging his head and kicked the windows and computer, police said.

Concerned with Forero’s safety, officers requested an ambulance. He was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. The child was released to a family member, police said.

Forero is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child age 15 or younger — a violation of Leandra’s Law — endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated and second-degree obstructing governmental administration along with multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.

He will be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
