Male body found in Massapequa Preserve, police say

The body of an unidentified male was discovered in the Massapequa Preserve on Thursday afternoon, Nassau County police said.
Homicide detectives said the death appeared suspicious.
The body was found just before 2:10 p.m. at the preserve, near Seaview and Ocean avenues, police said.
The 432-acre park, officially named The Peter J. Schmitt Massapequa Preserve, straddles Sunrise Highway and contains a bike and hiking trails.
Homicide detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
