N. Amityville lottery ticket pickpocket charged, cops say
A North Amityville man pilfered the back pocket of another man inside a gas station, taking his lottery tickets, Suffolk County police said.
John Barnes, 21, took the tickets from the back pocket of a man, 62, at the Valero station at 3359 Great Neck Rd., North Amityville, at about 7:30 p.m. on May 6, police said Thursday.
Police released a video Thursday showing a suspect taking the tickets from another man’s pocket as the two stood in line inside the station.
Following an investigation, First Squad detectives arrested Barnes Thursday on a charge of fourth-degree grand larceny.
Barnes, of South Emerald Lane, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
