Riverhead Town police arrested a Wading River man Friday night who they say used a pipe to damage a car when a dispute broke out after a collision.
Police were called to 301 Long Pond Rd. about 9:29 p.m., police said in a news release. While officers were en route, a second 911 call was placed in which a caller informed the dispatcher a “dispute” had erupted between the parties involved. The altercation had turned physical by the time police showed up, the news release states.
Officers arrested Eric A. Randazzo, 44, after the police department’s detective division investigated, charging him with second-degree criminal mischief, the news release says.
Randazzo was being held in the Suffolk jail and was expected to be arraigned Saturday morning.
It was unclear Saturday whether Randazzo had a lawyer. Attempts to reach his family were unsuccessful.
