Officers responding to a 911 call for “an aided case” found a man in a wooded area near a Glen Cove train station Tuesday who had suffered “serious” burns to his legs, police said.

Police could not immediately describe the circumstances of the injury, but said the case was under investigation.

The incident with “serious” injury was reported at 5:58 p.m., Glen Cove police said. Responding officers found the man in an area west of the Long Island Rail Road’s Glen Street station, which is just west of Cedar Swamp Road.

Photos showed police investigators on the scene at midnight.

Nassau County police said the man, whose identity was not released, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
