A Brentwood man has been charged in the killing of a man found face down and covered in blood Wednesday morning in Huntington, Suffolk police said.

Samuel White, 32, is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on a first-degree manslaughter charge in connection with the death of Edwin Rivera, 39, of Bay Shore, police said.

The victim was found next to his 2015 Mercedes-Benz on Clinton Avenue after police responded at 3:17 a.m. Wednesday to a 911 call reporting a man “unconscious and covered in blood,” police said.

Other details on the case were not immediately available Thursday morning, including how detectives focused on White, where he was arrested, what time he was arrested and what occurred between the two men.

Rivera was taken by Huntington Community First Aid Squad to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said the county medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
