Suffolk County police are investigating after a man was found critically injured in East Patchogue early Friday morning.

Police said officers discovered a man with a head injury on the ground at 770 Montauk Highway after they received a 911 call. He was found in a parking lot near a gas station around midnight, police told Newsday.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The victim, who had no identification on him, is described by police as a man with thick, black hair, 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-2 and 130 pounds.
