Man in Riverhead robbed of $500, beaten, police say
A 46-year-old man was beaten and robbed of $500 in cash in Riverhead, police said Monday.
The victim, who was not identified, told Riverhead police the attack took place sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday on Middle Road west of Doctors Path, police said.
There were three or four attackers, police said. The victim suffered facial cuts and told police his wallet, containing $500 in cash, and his cellphone were stolen.
