A 69-year-old man was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment after he fired a rifle at three women in a car late Wednesday in Rocky Point, police said.

Suffolk County police said Charles Robinson, of Rocky Point, was arrested at the scene, outside his home on Hallock Landing Road, and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment. There were no injuries.

Police did not identify the women — one of whom is 46 and two who are 18 — but said at least one was “known” to Robinson.

The shooting occurred about 10:56 p.m. on Hallock Landing Road near Mark Drive. Police said the women were seated in a car when Robinson “discharged a rifle” at them. None of the women were struck. The car was not struck, either.

Police said a single shot was fired.

Robinson had not yet been arraigned Thursday night in First District Court in Central Islip, online records show.
