Authorities are seeking the public’s help in their investigation of a shooting at a party in Riverhead, town police said Sunday.

No one has been charged in the Saturday night shooting of Travaum Brumsey, 37, of Flanders, police said.

Police said Brumsey was shot at 11:55 p.m. during the party that was held at a location on Fanning Street.

According to a news release, Riverhead police detectives responded to the scene, but Brumsey “was uncooperative and requested no police action.”

The release added that the call to police about the shooting came from Peconic Bay Medical Center’s Emergency Room staff “advising they had a victim of a gunshot wound.”

No further details were available.

Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has any information related to this case is asked to contact the Riverhead Town Police Department at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
