A man was shot in on a Greenlawn street Saturday night but is expected to survive, Suffolk police said.
Police identified the victim as Jermaine Roberts, 25, of Greenlawn. Roberts was shot twice — in the left arm and left leg, police said, and was taken to Huntington Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
According to a statement from Assistant Police Commissioner Justin Meyers, officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a man was shot on Brooklyn Avenue about 10:08 p.m.
Meyers said the circumstances of the shooting are under investigation.
It was the second shooting in Greenlawn in the past month. A 30-year-old man suffered nonlife-threatening injuries June 7 when police said he also was shot twice on a Greenlawn street.
