An 18-year-old man was shot in both legs early Saturday in Freeport, Nassau County police said.

Detectives said a Freeport man, whose name wasn't released, was shot about 2:40 a.m. Police found him at the intersection of North Columbus and Washburn avenues with gunshots to both his thighs.

He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
