A man who ran into the road on Route 25A in Fort Salonga Wednesday night was struck by two cars and killed, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the man was not carrying identification - and said they did not know why he had run into the street.

The fatal accident occurred at about 8:40 p.m.

Police said the man was first struck by a westbound 2009 Nissan Rogue driven by Tina Frangella of Huntington and then by a westbound 2008 Bentley Continental driven by Susan Rostkowski of Northport. Both drivers remained at the scene. Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.

No charges were filed.
