Police said the man was not carrying identification - and said they did not know why he had run into the street.

The fatal accident occurred at about 8:40 p.m.

Police said the man was first struck by a westbound 2009 Nissan Rogue driven by Tina Frangella of Huntington and then by a westbound 2008 Bentley Continental driven by Susan Rostkowski of Northport. Both drivers remained at the scene. Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.

No charges were filed.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
