A man with a “scruffy” blond beard and large sunglasses held up a bank in Babylon Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

The suspect handed a note demanding cash to a teller at the Capital One on Little East Neck Road about 3:45 p.m. and ran off westbound with the money, police said.

He appeared to be about 25 to 30 years old and 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build. He wore a dark baseball cap with yellow oak leaves on the brim and yellow writing, dark basketball shorts and dark hooded jacket.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
