Two men wearing Halloween masks took a woman’s backpack that contained $200 in cash near the Long Island Rail Road tracks in Riverhead, Riverhead Town Police said Tuesday.

The men forcibly removed her backpack at about 8:15 p.m. Monday as she walked near the tracks on East Avenue, police said.

The backpack also had her identification and several other items, police said.

After taking the backpack the men then fled east along the tracks.

Anyone with more information can call Riverhead Town Police at 631-727-4500.
