A Mastic man who a Suffolk jury in May took just nine minutes to find guilty of sexually abusing a child in 2014 was sentenced to 40 years in prison Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Suffolk County Judge Mark Cohen sentenced Ali R. Tebout, 36, to two consecutive 20-year terms in prison in connection with his conviction on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act, a B felony, according to a news release from Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota.

Tebout’s attorney could not be reached for comment.

Tebout, who prosecutors said abused a victim who was less than 10 years old on Aug. 30 and Sept. 1, 2014, was also found guilty of two counts of first-degree sexual abuse at a trial that ended on May 23. On those counts, Cohen sentenced Tebout to two 7-year terms to be served concurrently.
