A man crossing a street Saturday night in Huntington Village was seriously injured when he was struck by an oncoming car, Suffolk police said.

Matthew McKay, 67, of Huntington Station, was taken to Huntington Hospital after a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Theresa Caperna, 57, of Centerport, hit him at about 9:20 p.m. as he crossed Main Street, west of Nassau Road, police said.

An update on McKay’s condition was not available Sunday morning.

Caperna was not injured, police said.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252. All calls will be kept confidential.
