Suffolk police say they are investigating a hit-and-run that seriously injured a Brooklyn man on Saturday afternoon.

A gray vehicle struck Nadil Ceka, 58, while he was examining a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of southbound Bagatelle Road in Melville around 1:10 p.m., according to a news release.

The driver fled the scene, police said.

An ambulance transported Ceka to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for serious but not life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Suffolk police have asked anyone with information to call detectives at 631-852-6555 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
