Nassau police are looking for a male suspect who they said robbed a Valley Stream convenience store last week by subduing a store clerk with a headlock and threatening to use a handgun before making off with an unknown amount of money.

Fifth Squad detectives said the male suspect was wearing a stocking over his head when he entered A & H Milk Mart at 126 Mill Rd. at about 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 18.

Police said he applied the headlock to a 58-year-old customer and pointed an object in a black bag, which the victim thought was a gun, and demanded money.

A 39-year-old employee gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money from the cash register and the suspect left in a late model silver Nissan Sentra traveling south on Mill Road.

The suspect was described as wearing a green shirt, black hat and a stocking covering his face.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
