Brooklyn man could face 25 years for Long Island home invasion

A New York City man has been convicted of first-degree burglary for his involvement in a Long Island home invasion last year, the Suffolk County district attorney’s office said.

A Suffolk County jury convicted Bidi George, 21, of Brooklyn, on Wednesday, Nov. 2. He will be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison on Nov. 28.

According to police, George, along with two other men, invaded a home on Amanda Way in Center Moriches last November, armed with baseball bats and a handgun.

Authorities said the suspects also tied up a father, mother and child with duct tape. Three other children where in the home at the time, Newsday reported last year.

The trio stole cash, an Apple watch, jewelry and a cellphone, authorities said.

George — along with Alexander Vaughn, 29, and Akim Adams, 26 — were arrested in Bay Shore shortly after the incident, the district attorney’s office said.

Vaughn and Adams are still awaiting trial. A lawyer representing Vaughn did not immediately return a phone call requesting comment Saturday. It is unclear who is representing Adams.
