Carlos Henao, of Massapequa, killed in motorcycle crash; 1 of 3 drivers in crash charged with DWI

A motorcyclist was killed in an early morning, three-vehicle crash Wednesday in Lindenhurst that led to a section of Montauk Highway being closed for hours and the arrest of one of the two other vehicle operators for drunken driving, Suffolk County police said.
Police said Carlos Henao, 33, of Massapequa, was operating a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Montauk Highway when he attempted to pass two westbound vehicles at 1:42 a.m.
The motorcycle struck the rear of a 2019 Dodge Ram and a 2023 Honda CR-V that had moved to the right-hand lane. Henao was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Honda, identified by police as Brieonna McGinn, 28, of Massapequa, was charged with driving while intoxicated.
McGinn is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip. It was unclear if she is represented by counsel.
Police said all three vehicles were impounded for a safety check and ask anyone with information to contact them at 631-852-6555. No charges were reported against the third driver in the crash.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Montauk Highway and Chestnut Street, and the resulting investigation closed Montauk Highway in both directions for hours between South Second and Hickory streets. The road has since been reopened, police said.
