Alessandr Melo, 38, was driving his motorcycle at 80 mph and cutting off other drivers as he "made numerous unsafe lane changes," police said in a news release.
When Melo was pulled over on the northbound Meadowbrook near Stewart Avenue, troopers also detected a strong odor of alcohol, the release said.
Melo failed sobriety tests and was arrested. He also provided a breath-analyzer sample of .11 percent, police said.
He is charged with DWI and several traffic violations and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 23.
