Mount Vernon Mayor Ernest Davis on Tuesday became the latest New York politician caught up in a corruption case, pleading guilty in White Plains federal court to two counts of failing to file tax returns.

Davis, 76, is currently serving his fourth term in the Westchester County municipality. He failed to report the sale of a building on a corporate return in 2003, and also failed to file a personal income tax return on earnings of $106,743 in 2011, the government said.

The maximum sentence is 2 years in jail. Davis' sentencing was set for Jan. 26, 2015.
