A Hampton Bays couple has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in an abandoned vehicle on a Riverhead street last month, Suffolk police said.

Alcides Lopez-Cambara, 40, and Tyara Lemus, 18, were arrested Wednesday. They are charged with second-degree murder in the death of Marco Grisales, 39, of Sag Harbor, according to a department news release.

Homicide detectives had found Grisales' body on Nov. 11 at Roanoke Avenue, south of Green Tree Drive, with injuries to his head, said a release issued at the time.

Grisales died of blunt force trauma. The motive for the killing was robbery, according to an email from the police department press office Thursday.

The email said evidence connecting the pair to the killing would be disclosed at arraignment.

Lopez-Cambara and Lemus, for whom an attorney could not be identified for comment, are being held at the Riverhead Police Department Jail and were to be arraigned at Southampton Justice Court on Thursday, police said.
