Nassau police are searching for a man they said robbed a credit union in Roosevelt Thursday morning.

Robbery Squad detectives said the suspect entered the Bethpage Federal Credit Union at 405 Nassau Rd. at about 11:25 a.m. and demanded cash from a teller.

The suspect left the bank after the teller handed over an unknown amount of money, running west on Henry Street, police said.

He was described as being in his fifties, standing about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a medium build and wearing wire-rimmed glasses, a black hooded sweatshirt, gray jeans, a New York Yankees baseball cap and black sneakers.

Police said there were nine employees and four customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No one was reported injured.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the case to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
