Nassau police probe death in North Bellmore; no threat to public
Nassau police said they are investigating a death in North Bellmore Thursday.
Police received a 911 call at 9 a.m. Thursday regarding a possible homicide at a home on Pea Pond Road, police said.
Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun said the department’s Homicide Squad is investigating whether the death is suspicious or noncriminal, but he said there does not appear to be a threat to the pubilc.
“We’re investigating the possibility of a homicide at the residence and we’re looking into all areas in the residence and on the property,” LeBrun said.
Yellow police tape blocked much of the 1300 block of Pea Pond Road, and a homicide van was parked nearby.
Neighbors said a family that was originally from Tennessee lived at the home.
Police said no further information was available.
