A Hempstead man was charged Tuesday in connection with a bus stop incident last month in which a woman was assaulted and fondled, Nassau police said.

Jonathan Vega, 25, of Liberty Court, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of forcible touching and second-degree unlawful surveillance.

His arrest came one day after police issued request for help finding a man who tried to take pictures under the skirt of a woman waiting for the bus at Hampton Place and Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale at about 7:20 a.m. on July 19, police said.

The suspect then grabbed the woman from behind and began to fondle her before leaving the scene in a four-door Honda Accord, police had said.
