Nassau County police are looking for a man who they say broke into a kitchen in Elmont, Monday afternoon.

According to police, a woman working in a Keller Avenue home heard the doorbell ring at about 1:30 p.m., but didn’t answer the door. Two minutes later, she heard a “loud bang” and saw a man dressed all in black standing in the doorway to the kitchen.

The suspect, described as being 6 feet tall, fled empty-handed down Keller Avenue, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
