Nassau said robbers beat a 26-year-old man and stole his money and cell phone as he walked on a Westbury street early Tuesday.

The victim was walking along Post Avenue at 1:47 a.m. when he was approached by two men who, police said, “punched the victim on the side of his face and then pushed him to the ground.”

They removed an iPhone from the victim’s pockets and demanded cash, which he gave to them before they ran west on Maple Avenue.

The victim suffered a bruised face and lip but declined medical attention, police said.

Police described one suspect as having a thin build, ranging in age from 16 to 20 and wearing dark clothes including a hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect was described as having a heavy build, standing 6 feet tall and ranging in age from 16 to 20, wearing dark clothes including a grey or black hooded sweatshirt and a black partial covering ski mask.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
