Nassau police in Merrick find man's dead body in van

Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a van Thursday afternoon in Merrick.
Nassau police officers responded about 5:30 p.m. to a parking lot at Merrick Commons on Merrick Road, where they discovered the body of a 70-year-old man in a 2004 Ford Econoline, the department said in a news release.
The man's name was not immediately available.
His death "does not appear to be suspicious at this time," the release states.
