Calvin Beider of Garden City Park arrested in probe of drug overdoses, police say
A Garden City Park man was arrested on drug charges Sunday evening in Hicksville in connection with an investigation into two drug overdoses, one of them fatal, police said.
Nassau County police said Calvin Beider, 41, was arrested by Major Case Bureau Narcotics/ Vice Squad detectives at 7:10 p.m., charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Beider was released with non-monetary conditions at arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead. No information about counsel was listed in online records.
Police said the arrest was part of an investigation into two drug overdoses, one fatal, one non-fatal, but did not provide additional details on either of those incidents — only that both involved Nassau residents.
