A Queens Village man under investigation for causing a nonfatal overdose of a Nassau County resident was arrested Tuesday evening and found to be in possession of 100 bags of heroin, Nassau County police said Wednesday.

Rashad Salamay, 23, of 215th Place, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He faces arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said narcotics/vice squad detectives were investigating Salamay as “being responsible for an overdose to a Nassau County resident” when he was arrested leaving his home at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

That investigation continues.

The street value of the heroin was not immediately clear.
