A Lynbrook man was arrested early Sunday for allegedly driving while intoxicated with a child in his vehicle, Nassau police said.

Cesar Caraballo, 45, was stopped by police at 2:51 a.m. after he was seen driving a 2016 Infiniti westbound on Merrick Road at a high rate of speed, officials said. Police said Caraballo had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, glassy eyes and slurred speech. Caraballo’s 15-year-old son was also in the car.

Caraballo was arrested without incident and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child 15 or under (a violation of Leandra’s Law), endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated and several other vehicle and traffic violations. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
