Nassau County police are looking for a man who robbed a Freeport gasoline station Saturday morning.

Police said a man with a gun robbed a 65-year-old clerk who had just opened the US Petroleum gas station at 199 E. Sunrise Highway at 6:30 a.m. The gunman demanded the clerk empty the register of cash and turn over cartons of cigarettes and lottery scratch-off tickets, police said. The clerk, who was not hurt, also gave his wallet and cellphone to the robber.

The clerk told police the man was wearing a ski mask and a waist length jacket. The robber ran away, heading west on Sunrise Highway.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
