Armed robbery at Bellerose gas station; man sought, cops say
Nassau County police are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station in Bellerose Sunday morning during which an undetermined amount of cash was taken.
There were no injuries reported.
Police said the incident occurred at 2:56 a.m. inside the 76 Gas Station at 248-02 Jericho Tpke.
According to detectives, a 27-year-old worker was inside the station when he was approached by a man who walked behind the cash register demanding cash while displaying a black handgun. After the victim complied, the suspect fled on foot north on 91st Street.
The suspect is described as between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds.
Detectives asked anyone with information on the robber to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
