Nassau police said they are investigating an incident in which a 13-year-old girl was approached by a motorist who beckoned her into his vehicle as she walked along a Uniondale street on May 22.

The teen was walking along Jerusalem Avenue at about 3:25 p.m. when, police said, she was offered a ride by a man who was driving a light blue, four-door vehicle at the intersection with Patterson Avenue.

She declined and crossed the street when the suspect asked “Are you sure?” before driving off, police said.

Police described the suspect as ranging in age from 30 to 32 years old, with brown eyes and a medium build, who was driving a Nissan Altima or Maxima with tinted windows.

Police also released a composite sketch of the suspect.

Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
