Nassau police are seeking the public’s help locating a suspect in the Monday afternoon robbery of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union on West Merrick Road in Freeport.

No one was injured, but about 10 customers and eight employees were in the bank at the time of the robbery at 12:35 p.m., police said.

According to Robbery Squad detectives, a man wearing a blue hooded jacket and black, square-rimmed glasses entered the bank and approached a teller with a demand note. The teller complied, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the suspect fled the bank in an unknown direction.

The robber is described as about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds.
