Cops seek suspect in theft of New Holland generator in Riverhead
Who stole a portable generator from a longtime power equipment distributor in Riverhead? That’s what Riverhead Town police want to know — and they’re asking the public’s help in locating the offender.
Police said officers responding to a commercial burglary alarm at Malvese Equipment Co. on Old Country Road / Route 58, Thursday at 1:05 a.m., found the front glass doors smashed and a New Holland portable generator missing from the store, which sells tractors and other power equipment. A K-9 search was undertaken, but police said officers were unable to locate a suspect.
Police asked anyone with information to call detectives at 631-727-4500, ext. 327. All calls will remain confidential.
