Nissequogue home burglarized, car torched by 2 Selden men, cops say
Two Selden men face burglary and arson charges in court Saturday after Suffolk police said they stole from Nissequogue homeowners, then torched their car.
Louis Martini, 21, and Anthony Hlatky-Mupo, 21, were masked and armed with shotguns when they busted into a home about 8 a.m. on Sept. 26, police said.
The pair demanded cash and valuables, grabbing jewelry, electronics and a 2006 Lexus from the victims, police said.
The men drove off in the Lexus, and about half an hour later, they set the car on fire at Lake Ronkonkoma County Park, police said.
The victims were not injured, police said.
Detectives from the Fourth Precinct and the arson squad tracked down Martini and Hlatky-Mupo and arrested them separately on Friday morning, police said.
Both men were to be held overnight, pending their arraignment on first-degree burglary and third-degree arson charges.
