Two masked men, armed with a handgun, robbed a used-car dealership in North Merrick on Tuesday, stealing cash and other items from a salesman before fleeing the scene, police said.

Nassau County police said the salesman, whose identity was not released, suffered a laceration to his face during the robbery — and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The robbery took place at Jerusalem Auto Inc. on Jerusalem Avenue at about 6:15 p.m.

The two men, both wearing black ski masks and hoods, entered the dealership, struck the salesman on the head with an unknown object, then threw him to the ground, police said. Then, police said, the pair rifled the man’s pockets, taking cash, his wristwatch and a wallet before fleeing.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.

All calls will remain confidential.
