Suffolk police emergency-services officers responded to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip on Friday where an emotionally disturbed patient struck a nurse, authorities said. The nurse was not seriously injured, police said, and the patient was issued a ticket to appear in District Court on a charge of second-degree harrassment. The Suffolk officer pictured is carrying a non-lethal weapon that shoots bean bags.
