A sushi chef has been charged with slashing another chef in an Oakdale restaurant Friday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

Police said they were called to the Ichiban Sushi restaurant at 1543 Montauk Hwy. about 12:45 p.m.

Kong Chen, 38, of Flushing, Queens, attacked another employee, police said. The unidentified victim, also from Flushing, suffered a deep cut across his stomach, police said.

The Community Ambulance Company of Sayville took the 45-year-old victim by ambulance to the Southside Hospital Trauma Center in Bay Shore.

Chen was booked on second-degree assault, a felony, and arraigned Saturday morning in Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.

He pleaded not guilty and his bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. Chen is set to return to court Wednesday.
